Dr Craig Lia (Director & Osteopath)

B.SC (CLINICAL SCIENCE), M.H.SC (OSTEOPATHY), LEVEL 1 AND 2 MYOFASCIAL DRY NEEDLING (MMA)

Services: Osteopathy, Dry Needling, Cupping, Exercise Rehabilitation

Craig grew up with a love for sports and competition; competing in skiing, cycling, running and triathlon. It was this passion for sport combined with a strong interest in problem solving that led to his interest in biomechanics, injury prevention and the human body.

Drawing from both personal experience as a sportsman and his broad knowledge base, Craig believes in educating his clients about their body in the interest of self-care and injury prevention. He integrates manual therapy and where applicable, rehabilitation, to create a personalised treatment approach that reflects each individual, their complaint, and their goals.

Craig has a passion for learning and has undertaken a number of courses to extend his knowledge base including further study in dry needling, manipulation, RockTape, IASTM tools and Functional Neuro-Orthopedic Rehabilitation (FNOR).

He applies his wealth of knowledge to understanding the primary cause of the complaint and create individualised treatment plans for patients to return them back to their sport or chosen activity quickly.

Craig has an interest in helping and improving the health of patients who are suffering from persistent pain. This can include neck pain, jaw pain and headaches such as migraine and tension headaches.

Beyond the clinic, Craig is kept busy with cars, gym, skiing and travel.

Dr Isabel Tan (Osteopath)

B. HEALTH SCIENCE / B. APPLIED SCIENCE (OSTEOPATHY), LEVEL 1 MYOFASCIAL DRY NEEDLING (MMA)

Services: Osteopathy, Dry Needling, Cupping, Exercise Rehabilitation

Isabel has always loved learning about the science of the human body. In 2013, she graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science. Subsequently, she moved to Australia to pursue a double Bachelor’s degree in Health Science and Applied Science (Osteopathy).

She has gained exposure to patients from a variety of ages and backgrounds. In 2018, she spent five weeks in India treating patients at a local hospital and advocating public health within the community. In 2019, she joined an Osteopathic volunteering program in Bali. Whilst there, she treated children with physical and mental disabilities. Furthermore, she has training in geriatric care from a placement program at an aged care facility in Victoria.

Isabel has a keen interest in treating athletic injuries, stemming from years of experience as a competitive badminton player and assistant badminton coach. Moreover, she regularly volunteers as a sports science intern for the Philippine Olympic Committee where she works closely with elite athletes. As a result, this has enabled her to develop a deeper understanding of the physical and mental demands of top-level sport.

As part of her Osteopathic treatment, Isabel uses a wide range of manual therapy techniques as well as Dry Needling. In addition, she puts a heavy emphasis on patient education regarding topics such as pain science, ergonomics, exercise rehabilitation, basic nutrition, stress management and lifestyle advice.

In her spare time, Isabel likes to keep physically fit by playing badminton, practicing yoga and going on scenic hikes. She enjoys reading, spending time with her family (virtually), watching Korean drama, and playing dungeons and dragons.
